The first step to making sure your puppy grows into a well-behaved and obedient adult dog is to start as early as possible with training! Haruka can help you with teaching them various skills such as potty training, basic obedience, socialization, and more!
Puppy training is the process of teaching a young dog how to behave properly and follow basic commands. Training a puppy involves teaching them various skills with the ultimate goal of helping your puppy develop into a well-behaved and obedient adult dog!
Here are some key tips for successful puppy training:
Start early: Believe it or not, it’s best to start training your puppy as soon as you bring them home! Puppies, much like babies, are like sponges and are more receptive to learning during their early months.
Positive reinforcement: Haruka use positive reinforcement techniques such as praise, treats, and toys to encourage good behavior for puppies. This will help your puppy learn faster and develop a positive association with training.
Consistency: We will set you up with a regular, reoccurring training regiment to make sure that we are as consistent as possible with your puppy! Being consistent with your training sessions and the commands you use will help your puppy understand what is expected of them and make the learning process easier.
Socialization: Our puppy training program will expose your puppy to different people, animals, and environments to help them become well-adjusted and confident. Socialization is an important part of puppy training and will help prevent behavior problems in the future.
Patience: Be patient and don’t expect your puppy to learn everything overnight! Remember – training takes time and effort, but the results are well worth it!

Puppy Pre-School
At Puppy Pre-School, we will help your puppy become self-confident and happy, and also help you to have better communication with them! You can expect answers to puppy-raising questions and concerns owners often have such as:
- How to prevent/stop chewing
- House training guidance
- The most effective way to train/communicate with your new puppy
- Basic commands (sit, down, stay),
- Basic recall
- Proper leash walking
- The appropriate and polite way of greeting other dogs and humans
- How to read body language
This class environment is designed to provide you and your dog with safe and supervised socialization opportunities with other dogs in new environments. Early socialization is critical for the development of all puppies
Haruka is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, so during the last class, she will provide the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy test. If your puppy passes the test, they will be eligible to receive a Puppy Medal & Certificate from the AKC! If your puppy doesn’t pass, Haruka will provide tips and advice for you so you can practice and re-take the test (at no additional charge). Your dog doesn’t need to be an AKC registered dog in order to pass the test and receive the medal and certificate.
This course will take place on Yokosuka’s main base. There will be 2 classes with a maximum of 4 dogs each.
*Please Note: Puppies must be between 3-6 months old and have at least two sets of immunizations completed before attending.

Drop off your puppy for daycare and in addition to the full daycare package, your puppy will learn basic obedience and simple behavior skills! These include leash training, barking, and more!
Drop-off: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Pick-up: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
*Please note: All puppies must pass an initial consultation to qualify for puppy kindergarten

In this program, your puppy will stay with us in our boarding area for 2 weeks at a time. After the first two weeks, the puppy will go home for at least 2 weeks, then return for more training! We offer a variety of options for how long your puppy will go through this program from 3 weeks to 6 weeks in length.
